| In 2004, when 24 years of age, Aldo Clerico, instead of selling the grapes from the vineyards that belonged to his family for 4 generations, decided to start making his own wine. Now, only 28 years old, his first Barolo has been released and shows great promise. His wines are uncompromising, complex, structured, even difficult in their youth, but they tend, in true Piedmontese style, to age gracefully and improve with bottle age. Owning some amazing vineyards in the heart of the Monforte area and possessing an assured hand in the cellar, Aldo is making
wines that show personality and vigor. The vines are 30 years old on average and the soil composition is calcareous limestone Total production is 30.000 bottles from 6 hectares. |
